Harry joined Endava’s training programme, gaining hands-on AI experience alongside top professionals. Now a full-time Data Scientist, he applies AI to real-world challenges, creating impactful solutions.
What were your early experiences of the programme?
With a master’s degree in AI and a strong maths background, I was eager to dive in. I quickly realised how hands-on the experience would be, thanks to great mentors and a fast-moving environment. At first, I hesitated to ask questions, thinking everyone was too busy. But after my manager encouraged me to reach out, everything changed – I learned more, faster.
From your perspective, what were the best aspects?
The best part? Constant growth. I had access to top learning platforms, courses and real-time mentoring, but my biggest lessons came from working with experienced professionals. I wasn’t just training models – I was integrating them into real systems, understanding how they fit into business processes and developing an engineering mindset that goes beyond coding.
What kind of projects did you work on?
Early on, I worked on applications with real business value. One project helped a professional basketball team optimise data and fan engagement. I also contributed to Morpheus, Endava’s agentic AI acclerator, developing intelligent solutions companies could actually use. It wasn’t just about experimenting – it was about solving real problems.
What can you tell us about the culture here at Endava?
It’s not just the work, it’s how we work. Unlike rigid structures in some companies, Endava fosters trust and autonomy. Here, you get the technology, the goal and the freedom to figure things out. I was part of a structured AI team, collaborating with experts across data science, automation and engineering. Seeing different problem-solving approaches transformed the way I think and work.

What advice would you give to AI enthusiasts?

If you could describe your journey so far in one word, what would it be?
Insightful. This journey has been about more than learning AI – it’s been about innovation, collaboration and meaningful impact. And this is just the beginning.
