Challenge

A legacy payment tool limited an internationally known automotive company’s ability to respond to market demand and growth opportunities.

Outcome

As an experienced technology services partner, we zeroed in on the client’s payment pain points, creating a framework powered by compliance and attention to the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Our client is a global automotive manufacturer and its proprietary payments system. The solution ran atop a legacy infrastructure, deployment and maintenance approach that hindered its ability to respond to the changing payments landscape in an efficient manner that keeps pace with customer demand.

Focusing our efforts on compliance and SDLC, we used AWS tools to create a four-prong approach to develop a solution aligned with the client’s needs to build a more effective and intuitive payment platform.

Innovative and compliant payment practises

We collaborated with the company on a comprehensive strategy that addressed all its pain points and allows for the development of a flexible, robust cloud-based payment solution that prioritised:

  • A comprehensive governance framework: We devised and implemented a clear and consistent governance structure that ensures every aspect of the solution matched the company’s strategic and architectural objectives.
  • A well-defined SDLC workflow: Each stage of the development, testing and deployment process has clear, actionable criteria so every release meets the highest standards.
  • An innovative array of tools and technologies: We exploited a modern cloud stack’s potential to enhance reliability, flexibility, and security of the payment solution by making use of AWS EKS, ALB, RDS, MSK, S3, Transfer Family, ACM, Secrets Manager. Accompanied by improved workflows and accelerated release-cycles, the effectiveness of the platform’s resources was increased.

  • A dedicated environment for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD): Working with repository and automation services like AWS ECR, CodeArtifact, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy we streamlined CI/CD of the payment system components to speed up releases and guarantee high-quality delivery on all environments.

A proficient payment touchpoint

In the first three months of the project, the quality of the payments platform and the pace with which it operated had significantly improved. Supported by the utilization of AWS services, we started up dedicated development environments and testing phases that allowed us to roll out more than 10 fully CI/CD-borne microservices.

We helped the customer to increase operational efficiencies, positioning it to seize new growth and expansion opportunities.
