A major U.S. publishing company with 30 regional news hubs was looking for a more productive IT partner to help them in implementing 10 digital projects, which were critical for the client’s plan to move from a print-centric to a digital-centric business model. Since finding and partnering with Endava, the publisher never looked back, transferring all its development projects to Endava on the back of the success of the first implementations.

The Endava Approach

Endava was able to respond to our client’s need for a genuinely Agile approach and act as a true partner, assisting in defining the strategic requirements and implementation plan. After 6 months, during which a 25-person team delivered vastly improved quality and productivity, compared to an incumbent provider, for the implementation of a new subscriber management and paywall platform, our client also awarded us several additional key digital projects, including a strategic Insights Through Data engagement and development of a new bulk email and campaign management system. We took on digital delivery, adding a team of 44 in another Endava location (bringing a total account team to 77), and we also delivered to our client Java-based development of video features, front and back end development using the Escenic CMS, Mobile Apps and API development, and provided a DevOps service.

In addition to launching a flexible digital platform, which won’t need major development to accommodate evolving commercial models, our client can rely on a continuous delivery model in order to stay competitive in the digital publishing space.

The Insights Through Data project, which began with a proof of concept, is improving the quality of business decisions in the areas of audience, editorial content and advertising, helping improve our client’s revenues and profitability.
